Overview
The four days Uganda Safari to Queen Elizabeth national park offer a wonderful justification to some of the great reasons why Uganda was dubbed the pearl of Africa by Winston Churchill. The trip takes you to the most popular national park in Uganda because of its vast wildlife that call it a home.
A safari in Queen Elizabeth exposes you to various wildlife species like the buffalos, elephants, tree climbing lions, warthogs, Uganda kobs and antelopes among others. It also gives you a chance to have a launch cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel joining Lakes Edward and George. This channel is believed to have the biggest concentration of Hippos in the world.
These four days in Queen Elizabeth national park offer chances of tracking Chimps in Kyambura gorge and a cultural encounter with the local people that live in and around the park.

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Early morning after breakfast, be picked up by a knowledgeable and experienced tour guide from the airport or the lodge where you will have spent the previous night and start on the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park in western Uganda.
The journey itself is an experience of its own, you will have a stopover at the equator line that divides the world into two hemispheres and experience the water experiment that shows how water swirls to different directions in the opposite hemispheres.
Have a lunch stopover in Mbarara at Igongo cultural center and proceed directly to the park. On the way you will have views of the beautiful sceneries of the kigezi hills and many other stunning wonders.

Day 2: Morning game drive and a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel
Have a morning game drive through the park to see the beautiful landscape of the park featured with numerous crater lakes curled in the valleys of small hills in the park. The savanna landscape that homes more than 70 mammal species like the elephants, buffaloes, oribis, warthogs, lions, bushbucks, waterbucks, Uganda kobs and many others which can’t be miss to be spotted on a game drive here.
The afternoon will be occupied by a launch cruise at Kazinga channel that connects Lake Edward to Lake George. This is one of the longest water channels in Africa and its shores are populated by several huge hippos, elephants that come over to cool themselves, other wildlife looking for water as well as various bird species. Actually it’s one of the birding spots in Uganda.

Day 3: Chimp tracking and Community encounter
Early morning, have breakfast and embark on the safari vehicle to drive to Kyambura gorge where chimp trekking in Queen Elizabeth national park is done. This is one beautiful landscape that you will ever find in Uganda swarmed with a number of Chimps, other primates and forest animals.
Have some briefing and then enter into the gorge to track the habituated chimps in the forest. Walking through the forest is also one experience that is so thrilling. On meeting the chimps, stay an hour with them, watching them play from one tree branch to another and take as many pictures as you want provided the camera doesn’t have a flash.
In the evening, you will have an evening walk to the Leopard village and have an encounter with the local people that live in and around the park. Enjoy cultural performances from traditional groups, learn how to cook local foods and also taste the local cuisines.
