This tour will start and end in Kigali-Rwanda. The 4 days gorilla tracking safari offers you the opportunity to trek mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, make a boat cruise at lake Kive were you will have a chance of viewing some water animals such as hippos, crocodiles and others. It offers you an opportunity to stay and relax at Rwanda’s most beautiful beach along Lake Kivu – Gisenyi.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes national park.
On arrival at Kigali airport, you will be welcomed by our representative who will, drive a scenic drive through terraced hills to Volcanoes national park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla view Hotel (luxury)/ La palme Hotel (Mid range)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
Day 2: Gorilla tracking and afternoon Nature/Cultural walk.
After briefing from the senior park ranger you will commence your memorable gorilla trekking which normally takes 2 to 6 hours in the jungle. You will be allowed to stay in the presence of the gorillas for a maximum of 1 full hour. Later return to your Hotel for Relaxation. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk to Iby’awacu, where you will be entertained by the Banyarwanda community and learn more about their culture, or go for nature walk to the twin lakes. Dinner and overnight (Day 1).
Day 3: Golden Monkey tracking/ Dian Fossey Hike and transfer to Lake Kivu.
In the morning, you will go for either golden monkey tracking OR go for the hike to Dian Fossey grave, an American primatologist who dedicated her years conserving the lives of the Mountain Gorillas until she was killed and is buried next to Digit, the mountain gorilla. On return, you will drive lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at Paradise malahide/Lake Kivu Serena hotel/Stipp Hotel.
Day 4: Boat cruise and transfer to Kigali.
In the morning, you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Kivu up to the hot springs and the coffee island. You will also visit Goma boarder and have a clear view of Nyiragongo vol;canoe. On return, drive back to Kigali arriving in the afternoon. You will then transfer to the airport for your scheduled departure flight.
