This 10 days safari to Uganda will start and end in Kampala. In this safari you will have a chance of seeing the remaining 880 rare mountain gorillas found in the Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Move on with chimpanzee tracking and other primate in the kibale forest national park. Visit Queen Elizabeth national park for wild game view where you will have a chance of seeing animals such as there rare tree climbing lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, warthorgs and others. This park is also blessed to have a good number of birds making a total of 600 species. Make a visit to lake Mburo national park which is know for there rare species of antelopes which are only found there and no were else in the country. Will also have to rich Jinja where you will go for white water rafting and even visit Mabira forest.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1, Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala, you will be met by our guide who will transfer you to Fort portal town reaching in time for Lunch. The journey will take you through the lush green countryside on Mityana-Mubende road to Fort portal and stopover at some coffee holdings tea plantations and open swamp valleys. After your lunch in Fort portal, you will visit the crater region and then in the evening, transfer to Kibale Forest National Park for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee guest House/Chimp Nest/CVK/Kibale Forest Camp/Primates lodge/Ndali lodge

Day 2, Chimp trek and Bigodi swamp walk
After breakfast, you will head to the Park headquarters at Kanyachu for chimpanzee tracking briefing by the Park Rangers. After this, you will be accompanied by the Ranger Guide into the forest to search for the Chimpanzee which are Man’s closest friends and Cousins. Kibale Forest is not only home to the chimps but also to other 12 species of primates including the red colobus and L’hoests monkeys, Varvet Monkeys, Red Tailed Monkeys, baboons and so on. You will experience how the chimps feed and interact with each other. Return back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon set out for the Nature walk in Bigodi swamp. Here you will enjoy various bird species and also other primates. Bigodi is considered as a bird watchers paradise because of the very many bird species that can be viewed from the swamp. Return back tom your Lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee guest House/Chimp Nest/CVK/Kibale Forest Camp/Primates lodge/Ndali lodge

Day 3, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National park. The journey will take you through the historical Kasese town with a clear view of the mountains of the Moon or the Rwenzori Mountain. As you enter the Park, you will have a game drive en route.  Proceed with your journey to Mweya for a guided nature walk in the Maramagambo forest for primate watching and visits to the bat cave and the blue lake. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/Simba Safari Camp/Ihamba Safari Lodge

Day 4, Game drive and Launch Cruise
After a fully served breakfast, you will set out for the morning game drive in the Kasenyi area. Here look out for animals such as the Lions, Buffaloes, Leopard, Elephants, Kobs, Antelopes, Spotted Hyena and the elusive giant forest hog. Return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, set out for the Launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This will give you the opportunity to view wildlife up close such as hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge/Simba Safari Camp/Ihamba Safari Lodge

Day 5, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park known as the Ishasha sector which is commonly known for the rare tree climbing lions in Fig and acacia trees. From here you will be able to spot the tree climbing lions and also other animals in the area. Proceed with your journey to Bwindi reaching in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Bandas/Gorilla Resort/Gorilla Mist Camp/Nkuringo Gorilla Camp/Wagtail Eco Safari Camp

Day 6, Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Before 8:00am, you will have breakfast and then transfer to the Ranger station for a briefing and guidance of the activity. After this, you will be accompanied by armed ranger guides in the forest to search for the Mountain Gorillas. You will pass through the forest, slashing at the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track gorillas. The time taken to track the Gorillas is unpredictable since it depends on their movements in search for food and shelter. However, it can take from 2 to 9 hours. Upon reaching the Gorillas, you will have one hour with them and this will enable you to sit down and watch them as they interact with each other, communicate and you are also free to take photographs and Videos. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Bandas/Gorilla Resort/Gorilla Mist Camp/Nkuringo Gorilla Camp/Wagtail Eco Safari Camp

Day 7, Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. The scenic drive will take you through the Kabale region which is known as the Switzerland of Africa because of its topography full of hills and highlands. You will have lunch en route in Mbarara town and then later enter the Park through the Nshara gate. Upon arriving in the Park you will go for the boat ride on Lake Mburo. Look out for animals like Hippos, crocodiles and so on. Dinner and overnight stay at Mihingo Lodge/Mantana Luxury tented Camp/Arcadia Cottages

Day 8, Game drive and transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast, you will go for the morning breakfast with in the park to search for animals like the herds of Zebra, Impala, Eland and other savannah species. Also look out for bird species like African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike and so on. Later transfer back to Kampala with lunch en route at the equator. Have a short city tour around Kampala and visit places like Kasubi Tombs, Namugongo Martyr’s shrine, Uganda Museum and National Theatre

Day 9, Head to Jinja via Mabira Forest
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Jinja, passing through the famous mabira forest. Take a forest walk through this huge and beautiful forest. The forest guide will guide you through tree identification in the forest. Head to Jinja for Lunch. After lunch a Jinja town tour visit the local people in jinja, interact with the children. Return later in the evening to your hotel and overninght.

Day 10: Jinja white water rafting Trip
After breakfast try out the wonderful experience of the white water rafting over the high grade rapids of the Mighty River Nile. These high grade rapids make rafting to be among the best adventure activities that can be taken in the world. Visit the Source of the Nile, a place where the waters of the Nile start their 3 months journey ending in the Mediterranean Sea. Take a drive around Jinja town observing the local people’s lifestyles, as well as old style buildings of the Asians. Return to Kampala arriving late in the evening and drop off at the airport.
