Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Early morning after breakfast, start on the journey to Murchison falls national park, the largest park in Uganda and traversed by the Nile River with the most powerful waterfall in the world; the Murchison falls. A park with more than 70 mammal species, guarantying a perfect wildlife experience in the pearl of Africa.

Have a stopover at Zziwa Rhino sanctuary and track the rare white Rhinos in their natural setting. Meet the habituated crashes of rhinos that have come to adapt with the nature of this sanctuary. No other place in Uganda you will ever find the rhinos except here. Walk really up close to these huge land mammals, something that is currently only got in Uganda.

Later have a lunch stopover in Masindi legendary town of the Banyoro people and then proceed to Murchison falls national park for spectacular views of various wildlife species that call this park a home.

Day 2: Morning game drive and a launch cruise

Having had a delicious breakfast, embark on the drive through the park. Murchison falls national park being the largest park offers one of the best game drive experiences that expose travelers to countless chances of spotting various wildlife species. The park is a home to more than 75 mammal species and on a game drive, chances are that you spot 80% of the wildlife here. The elephants, waterbucks, warthogs, hyenas, buffaloes, oribis, bushbucks, lions, leopards and many other species are guaranteed glances.

After lunch, cool off the warmth from the heavy meal on a launch cruise on Africa’s longest river, the Nile River. Have amazing views of the Murchison waterfalls, and banks evaded by numerous crocodiles, hippos and several sea bird species.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National park

Have breakfast and start on the journey to Kibale national park the once cleanest town in East Africa. This five hour journey passes through the Albertine rift valley escarpment. Have a lunch stopover in Hoima and then reach the primate capital of the world. It’s a full day journey, though an experience of its own.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Immediately after breakfast, head to the park headquarters for briefing about chimp trekking from the local guide. From here start on the trek into the forest to search for these near cousins of humans. The trek starts at 7am and it takes a maximum number of 8hours.

Walk through the forest, encountering different primate species like the baboons, colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys as well as bird species and forest elephants. Some trekkers are lucky enough to see the chimps in their first hour while others take even five hours, but when you meet the chimps, the trek becomes worth every step. See the chimps play from one tree branch to another. See how they feed and live in the forest, take as many pictures provided the camera doesn’t have a flash.

From the forest, have lunch and board the vehicle to Queen Elizabeth national park, the most visited park in Uganda because of its diverse wildlife species. The voyage to the park gives clear views of the Rwenzori Mountain of the moon and the kigezi hills of western Uganda.

Day 5: Morning game drive and a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

Have a morning game drive through the park to see the beautiful landscape of the park featured with numerous crater lakes curled in the valleys of small hills in the park. The savanna landscape that homes more than 70 mammal species like the elephants, buffaloes, oribis, warthogs, lions, bushbucks, waterbucks, Uganda kobs and many others which can’t be miss to be spotted on a game drive here.

The afternoon will be occupied by a launch cruise at Kazinga channel that connects Lake Edward to Lake George. This is one of the longest water channels in Africa and its shores are populated by several huge hippos, elephants that come over to cool themselves, other wildlife looking for water as well as various bird species. Actually it’s one of the birding spots in Uganda.

Day 6: Departure
