4 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Lake Mburo
Tour Itinerary
DAY 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo NP and afternoon boat cruise.
In the morning, you will be picked from your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe by the guide/driver and set off to Lake Mburo National Park, which is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. You will have a stopover to look at the Royal Drum makers, stand at the Equator for a photographic opportunity and also listen to some few interesting facts. Proceed to Lake Mburo National Par and check in at your lodge. After checking in, you will take a late afternoon canoe ride on Lake Mburo which will reward you with view of lots of bird species, hippos, and some animals which come to drink water at the lake. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo Bandas/ Arcadia Cottages/ Mihingo Lodge
Day 2: Guided nature walk, game drive and transfer to Bwindi NP.
In the morning, take a guided nature walk and later set off the park with game drive en route, and proceed on your journey to Bwindi NP, with spectacular views of the rifts and escarpments. You will reach Bwindi NP in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community bandas / Wagtail Eco camp/ Silverback Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Mist camp/Gorilla Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Gorilla tracking and community walk.
After an early morning breakfast, you will gather at the pack headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. You will then ascend the park, the guides will then take you through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas. This will take you 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in their natural environment. Stay with the gorillas for one hour and descend back to the lodge. In the evening, you may go for community walk where you will learn about the traditional way of life. Return for dinner and over night at your lodge.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala and departure.
After morning breakfast, you will set off back to Kampala arriving in the evening. You will proceed to Entebbe airport for your departure flight to your next destination if on schedule.
