About Uganda the Pearl of Africa

Uganda is one of the small countries in Africa, covered mainly by water bodies and mountains, and flatland. Uganda, though small, is very rich in tourist attractions and have been most of the time voted as the leading tourist destination site in Africa.

Uganda‘s uniqueness was even attested by Winston Churchill who described it as a “pearl of Africa” after admiring the beauty of this small country. The country experiences two weather seasons; dry and rainy season, with the dry season stretching from January to March, and then June to August. The rest of the months are rainy seasons.
Uganda boasts of ten national parks, all of which a rich in wildlife. The parks include Murchison falls National park, Queen Elizabeth National park, Lake Mburo National park, Kidepo National park, Kibale National park, Semliki National park, Bwindi impenetrable National park, Mgahinga National park, Rwenzori national park and Mt.Elgon Natioanl park.

Famous of the national parks is Bwindi impenetrable National park which is the home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The park is a home to over 340 mountain gorillas, currently with nine Gorilla groups open for tourists. Gorilla safari tours are the most interesting activity as it is quite challenging but amazing to be in presence of these giants which are believed to have 98.5 DNA to that of human beings.
