This trip specifically takes you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The park is located in Southwestern Uganda homing nearly half of the world’s total population of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world. It’s one of the few places in the world where visitors get to see these endangered animals in the wild. Besides these gentle giants, Bwindi is also a home to more than 120 mammal species, 348 bird species and 202 species of butterflies plus the 200 tree and 100 fern species.
This 3 day gorilla safari exposes you to chances for up close encounters with the beautiful giants of the jungle, an experience that is simply unforgettable for years.

DAY 1: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
In the morning after breakfast, start on the nine hour journey to Bwindi which is also still an experience of its own. Stop at the equator in Kayabwe for the water experience and photos, see how water swirls in opposite directions in the different hemispheres of the world.
Then proceed to Igongo Cultural center for lunch stopover in Mbarara. From here, continue enjoying a comfortable drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park filled with beautiful views of the Kasese hills, Mountain Rwenzori, and the stunning landscapes tinted with green vegetation.

DAY 2: GORILLA TREKKING AND THE BATWA CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Have an early breakfast and head to the office headquarters of the park for a simple briefing from the park ranger guide about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking, be divided into groups of eight, the maximum number of people to visit a gorilla family in a day.
Start on the hunt of one of the gorilla groups in Bwindi, an experience so awesome that cannot be easily forgotten. Walking through the rugged terrains of the forest and following the gorillas is a challenging activity that takes you through the thick lush with slippery terrains. Trekkers might also encounter other different mammal species like the forest elephants and buffaloes, bird species and butterflies.
Trekking the mighty apes could take a day or even just one hour, it depends on your luck of the trekkers that day.
Later in in the afternoon, after lunch have a cultural encounter with the Batwa people. See how the ancient forest people, also known as the first inhabitants of the forest used to hunt with a bow and arrow, learn how to make fire and cook locally. A taste of the local cuisines is a guarantee except to the one who doesn’t wish. Then return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: TRAVEL BACK TO KAMPALA AND DEPARTURE
Immediately after breakfast, embark on the safari vehicle for a beautiful drive back to Kampala, have a lunch stopover and proceed to Kampala.
