Tour Itinerary
“Day 1, Kampala to Bwindi
After your breakfast at the Hotel in Kampala, our driver guide will meet you and transfer you to South Western Uganda where Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located. En route, you will have a stopover at the Equator at Kayabwe for an informative explanation from the experts of the area as well as taking Photographs. Continue with the journey to Mbarara town for lunch and then proceed with the journey to Bwindi through Rural country side areas. Reach Bwindi in the evening in time for dinner and overnight stay at Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Resort/Gorilla Forest Camp/Wagtail Eco Safari Camp/Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 2, Gorilla trek in Bwindi Forest
Early morning, you will have breakfast and then report to the Park Ranger Station before 8:00am for a brief talk about the Gorillas and the tracking rules. This will be done by one of the ranger guides of the Station. After this, your rangers will lead you to track the endangered world giants also called the Mountain gorillas through the bush, undergrowth and parting thick creepers. On your way to see the Gorillas, look out for other primate species like the Monkeys, baboons and a lot of bird species. Upon meeting the Gorillas, you can opt to sit around these great apes for a whole 1 hour gazing into their big round eyes as well as taking Photographs. You are reminded to take with you your packed lunch and mineral water since the gorilla trek time is unpredictable and it ranges from half an hour up to 8 hours depending on the movement of these primates. After tracking the gorillas, you will return back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Resort/Gorilla Forest Camp/Wagtail Eco Safari Camp/Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 3, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, you will leave Bwindi and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale region which is commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa. Lake Bunyonyi is a very spectacular destination with beautiful small Islands which are enclosed by steep terraced slopes. Bunyonyi is well known as a bird watchers paradise. Have lunch upon arrival and in the afternoon take a boat transfer to the most of the Islands. Dinner and overnight stay at Bunyonyi overland Camp/Arcadia cottages/Bunyonyi Safari Resort
Day 4, Transfer to Rwanda
After breakfast, you will drive to Kisoro and cross the Rwandan Border at Cyanika to Ruhengeri and get to Rwanda in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi guest House/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge
Day 5, Gorilla tracking in Rwanda (Parc National Des Volcans)
Early morning after breakfast, you will set out for the Gorilla tracking activity. You will start with the Gorilla briefing from the Park rangers at the Headquarters and then later set out with your armed guide through the transparent mountainous forest on the Virunga slopes to search for these great apes of Mountain Gorillas. You will have a face to face with the gorillas and be in their midst for an hour. You can take pictures, video coverage and so on. Later return back to your lodge for lunch and in the evening, take a small tour to the twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Burera. Day 6, Golden Monkey Tracking
After breakfast, you will again enter the forest to track the smaller primates called Golden Monkeys. These primate species are very minimal in terms of numbers and this is why they are listed as endangered by the IUCN. Tracking time also vary and depends on the location of these Monkeys that day. Return back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, visit Ruhengeri town and the local markets surrounding the Area. Day 7, Kigali city tour and departure
After a fully served morning breakfast, you will transfer back to Kigali where you will do a short city tour. Visit the Genocide Memorial sites with in Kigali, the local Markets and so on. Later, transfer back to the Airport for your flight back home.
